on the first step you need remove the oil pan and pick-up tube. and also the timing chain cover after that remove the timing chains and tensioners and the four bolts, primary timing chain tensioner and the oil pump. and importantly the entire front of the engine, timing chain, valve covers, oil pan all need to be separated to replace the oil pump is mounted behind the timing chain on the crankshaft.
